Label points behind the record

  • Take one tablet each morning on an empty stomach with up to 4 ounces of water, then wait at least 30 minutes before food, drinks or other medicines.[1]
  • Swallow the tablet whole; if a dose is missed, skip it and take the next one the following day.[1]
  • Tablet levels reach steady state after 4 to 5 weeks of daily dosing.[1]
  • Semaglutide from the injections stays in circulation for about 5 weeks after the last one.[2]
  • Tablet strengths are not interchangeable milligram for milligram.[1]

Questions before and after the switch

  1. My injection dose is not 0.5 mg: what plan do you want me to follow?
  2. Which tablet and strength am I starting, and is that what the pharmacy gave me?
  3. When should we recheck A1c after the change?
  4. Should my insulin or sulfonylurea change while the tablets build up?
