Wegovy CMP tracker: glucose, kidney, liver and salts side by side
Copy each comprehensive metabolic panel into one table next to your Wegovy dose and any vomiting or diarrhea that week, list the medicines that move CMP values, and keep the Wegovy label's kidney, sugar and gallbladder warnings beside the numbers.
Starting point
Date and results of the CMP before the first dose
Diabetes medicinesinsulin or a sulfonylurea raises the risk of low blood sugar
Water pills, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, NSAIDs or statins
Known kidney or liver condition
CMP results by date
Note whether the sample was fasting, and how many days of vomiting or diarrhea you had in the week before the draw.

What the label and the STEP analysis report
- Acute kidney injury: 0.4 cases per 100 patient-years on Wegovy versus 0.2 on placebo in the weight trials; most reports involve dehydration from stomach side effects.[1]
- Severe stomach and bowel side effects: 4.1% on Wegovy injection versus 0.9% on placebo.[1]
- With insulin or a sulfonylurea, Wegovy raises the risk of low blood sugar, including severe episodes.[1]
- Some ALT and AST rises in Wegovy trials were linked to other causes such as gallstones.[1]
- In STEP 1 participants with prediabetes, fasting glucose ran 8.49 mg/dL lower than on placebo by week 68.[2]
Call your healthcare provider for
- Vomiting or diarrhea that leaves you dizzy, very thirsty or passing little urine: dehydration can lead to kidney injury.[1]
- Pain in the upper stomach, yellow skin or eyes, fever, or clay-colored stools: possible gallbladder problem.[1]
Questions when a CMP value is flagged
- Was I dehydrated when this sample was drawn, and should it be repeated once I am drinking normally?
- Do any of my medicines explain this value better than Wegovy does?
- Should my diabetes medicine dose change now that my glucose is lower?
- Is this change large enough to hold or slow my next dose step?
- When should the next CMP be drawn?
