Wegovy lipid panel tracker: fasting status, statin dose and results
Record your baseline lipid panel, statin or other lipid medicine and whether each sample was fasting, then add each panel with the weeks on Wegovy and the dose, so changes are compared like with like before any statin decision.
Before the first Wegovy dose
Baseline lipid panel date and results
Was it fasting? For how many hours?
Statin or other lipid medicine, and dose
Lp(a) or ApoB, if ever measured
Family history of early heart disease
Lipid panels on Wegovy
A panel drawn while the dose is still going up is a trajectory check; compare like with like (fasting with fasting, same lab where possible).
| Date | Weeks on Wegovy | Wegovy dose | Fasting? | Total cholesterol | LDL | HDL | Triglycerides | Non-HDL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Week-68 results in the Wegovy label
- Triglycerides: down 21.9% on Wegovy versus 7.3% on placebo in Study 2; down 22% versus 9.4% in the type 2 diabetes trial.[1]
- LDL: down 2.5% on Wegovy versus up 1.3% on placebo in Study 2; in the type 2 diabetes trial LDL was 0.4% higher than placebo.[1]
- HDL: up 5.2% on Wegovy versus 1.4% on placebo in Study 2.[1]
- These lipid results were not part of the trials' pre-specified hierarchical testing.[1]
Questions before changing lipid treatment
- Is my LDL goal within reach with weight loss alone, or do I still need my statin at this dose?
- Was this panel fasting, and should it be repeated before we act on it?
- Should Lp(a) or ApoB be measured, given my family history?
- Do my triglycerides still need their own treatment once I am on the full Wegovy dose?
- When is the next panel due, and on which dose?
