Label points for this pairing
- Trulicity is injected once a week at any time of day, with or without food.[1]
- At 1.5 mg, dulaglutide did not change absorption of the oral medicines tested to any clinically relevant degree.[1]
- In the label's pooled placebo-controlled trials, stomach and bowel side effects affected 21% on placebo, 32% on 0.75 mg and 41% on 1.5 mg.[1]
- Kidney function should be checked if side effects could cause fluid loss, especially when starting or increasing Trulicity; no Trulicity dose change is needed for kidney impairment itself.[1]
- If you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea, the label says to consider lowering its dose when Trulicity is started.[1]
Call your prescriber right away for
- Diarrhea, nausea or vomiting that is draining fluids faster than you can replace them, since dehydration can harm the kidneys.[1]
- Severe pain in the stomach area that will not go away, with or without nausea or vomiting: stop Trulicity and call.[1]
For your next appointment
- Should my metformin dose stay the same while Trulicity is being increased?
- Would switching to extended-release metformin help my stomach symptoms?
- When is my next kidney function test due?
- If I get a stomach bug, should I pause metformin, Trulicity or both, and for how long?
