Mounjaro and progesterone nausea and bleeding diary
Note injection days, bedtime progesterone doses, and when nausea, dizziness or bleeding happen. The pattern helps show which medicine is the more likely cause before you call, and gives the prescriber dates rather than impressions.

What the two labels say
- Most Mounjaro nausea, vomiting and diarrhea happened while the dose was being raised and eased over time.[1]
- For oral contraceptive pills, the Mounjaro label advises a non-oral method or an added barrier method for 4 weeks after starting and after each dose increase; contraceptives not taken by mouth should not be affected.[1]
- Prometrium is taken at bedtime because some women become very drowsy or dizzy after a dose.[2]
Contact a clinician the same day for
- Unusual vaginal bleeding while taking progesterone.[2]
- Severe stomach pain that may spread to the back, with or without nausea or vomiting (possible pancreatitis).[1]
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea that does not go away.[1]
- Extreme dizziness or drowsiness, blurred vision, slurred speech or difficulty walking, especially early in progesterone treatment.[2]
Questions for the prescriber
- If nausea or vomiting keeps up on Mounjaro, should my progesterone route change?
- If I vomit soon after a bedtime capsule, what should I do?
- What bleeding pattern should I expect on my regimen, and what change should I report?
- With PCOS, if my cycles come back, do I still need the cyclic progestin?
