What the two labels report
- In clonazepam's panic-disorder trials, somnolence was reported by 37% (10% on placebo) and ataxia by 5% (0% on placebo).[1]
- In Wegovy's adult weight trials, fatigue was reported by 11% (5% on placebo) and dizziness by 8% (4% on placebo).[2]
- Benzodiazepines with opioids may cause profound sedation, slowed breathing, coma and death.[1]
- Stopping clonazepam abruptly or cutting the dose fast can cause withdrawal that can be life-threatening.[1]
- The Klonopin label advises avoiding alcohol.[1]
When to get help
- Get emergency help right away for shallow or slowed breathing, breathing that stops, or excessive sleepiness, especially with an opioid, alcohol or another sedating medicine.[1]
- On insulin or a sulfonylurea: dizziness, shakiness, sweating, confusion or drowsiness can be low blood sugar rather than the benzodiazepine; ask your healthcare provider how to recognize and treat it.[2]

- Is my sleepiness or dizziness score high enough to hold this dose step for longer?
- Am I taking more as-needed doses than before, and why?
- Should I avoid driving until I know how the combination affects me?
- If my sleep or anxiety improves, what would a gradual taper look like?
- Does a fall or near-fall change the plan?
