Wegovy constipation medicine log and Drug Facts checklist
Log each laxative dose against your Wegovy week, with the hours until it worked and how many days in a row you have used it, so you can see when a label's one-week limit has been reached. The checks each Drug Facts label asks for are printed beside the log.

Drug Facts checks before the first dose
- MiraLAX: not for people with kidney disease unless a doctor supervises; ask a doctor first if you have nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain.[1]
- Milk of Magnesia: ask a doctor first with kidney disease or a magnesium-restricted diet, and ask a doctor or pharmacist if you take a prescription drug.[2]
- Dulcolax tablets: do not chew or crush them or take them within 1 hour of an antacid or milk; they may cause stomach discomfort, faintness and cramps.[3]
- Senokot: do not use laxative products for longer than 1 week unless a doctor directs it.[4]
- Colace: do not use it if you are taking mineral oil, unless a doctor has told you to.[5]
Stop and ask, or call
- Rectal bleeding, or no bowel movement after using a laxative: stop use and ask a doctor.[3]
- Stomach problems that are severe or will not go away on Wegovy: tell your healthcare provider. Ileus, intestinal obstruction and severe constipation with fecal impaction have been reported since approval.[6]
- Severe stomach pain that will not go away: stop Wegovy and call your healthcare provider right away.[6]
If a week of over-the-counter treatment has not worked
- Is it time for a prescription option, and which side effect should I expect from it?
- Could any of my other medicines be adding to the constipation?
- Would a slower Wegovy schedule help while this settles?
- Which symptoms mean I should be checked for a blockage?
