What the sources actually say

  • NIH's complementary health center says CoQ10 may interact with warfarin and with insulin.[1]
  • The same NIH summary says the overall evidence does not support CoQ10 for statin-related muscle pain.[1]
  • In the Cochrane review's 2 pooled trials (50 participants), CoQ10 did not significantly change blood pressure compared with placebo.[2]
  • FDA's July 2026 review identified no clinical studies or human exposure data for MOTS-c, so no study has measured MOTS-c together with CoQ10 or any of these medicines in people.[3]

For your pharmacist or prescriber

  1. Does CoQ10 change how my warfarin or INR should be monitored?
  2. If I use insulin, does CoQ10 change how I should check my glucose?
  3. Is muscle pain on my statin being assessed on its own, apart from any supplement?
  4. Given that FDA found no human data for MOTS-c, should a MOTS-c-labelled product be on this list at all?
  5. Which of these products should be recorded in my chart?
