CoQ10 with NMN or NR: stack record and blood pressure log
Write down the CoQ10 form and dose next to your NMN or NR, log home blood pressure for the first 4 weeks after starting CoQ10, and keep statin, warfarin and lab details on the same page for your next appointment.

Home blood pressure for the first 4 weeks on CoQ10
The page suggests this log when CoQ10 is above 200 mg a day or you already take blood pressure medicines. Sit quietly for a few minutes before each reading.

What the CoQ10 studies on this page found
- 200 mg a day for 4 weeks raised total plasma CoQ10 from 0.9 to 2.5 µg/mL as ubiquinone and to 4.3 µg/mL as ubiquinol; no side effects were noted.[1]
- Q-SYMBIO gave 100 mg 3 times a day for 2 years to 420 people with heart failure; major cardiovascular events occurred in 15% on CoQ10 and 26% on placebo.[2]
- In early Parkinson disease, doses of 300, 600 or 1200 mg a day for up to 16 months were safe and well tolerated.[3]
- Across twelve randomized trials with 575 statin users, CoQ10 eased muscle pain and other muscle symptoms but did not lower creatine kinase.[4]
- The updated Cochrane review found moderate-quality evidence that CoQ10 has no clinically significant effect on blood pressure.[5]
Check with a physician before adding CoQ10 if you
- Take warfarin or another vitamin K antagonist
- Have severe kidney disease (eGFR under 30)
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Take several blood pressure medicines and are already near your target
Questions for your clinician
- Is a plasma CoQ10 level worth checking while I am on a statin?
- Do my muscle symptoms on the statin need their own work-up before I try CoQ10?
- With my blood pressure medicines, what home readings should make me call you?
- I take warfarin: when should my INR be checked after starting CoQ10?
- Is either supplement worth continuing if nothing measurable changes?
