From the Vyvanse label and the glutathione trial

  • The Vyvanse label says lisdexamfetamine is not metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes.[1]
  • Dextroamphetamine, the active form, has a half-life of about 10 to 11.3 hours in healthy adults.[1]
  • Acidifying agents such as ascorbic acid lower amphetamine blood levels; alkalinizing agents such as sodium bicarbonate raise them.[1]
  • Vyvanse is not to be taken during or within 14 days after an MAOI.[1]
  • In the 6-month oral glutathione trial, levels returned to baseline after a 1-month washout.[2]

Stop and get help right away

  • Possible serotonin syndrome: agitation, flushing, loss of coordination, dizziness, hallucinations, high body temperature or a fast heartbeat. The Medication Guide says to stop Vyvanse and call your provider or go to the emergency room.[1]
  • Chest pain, shortness of breath or fainting during treatment: call your healthcare provider or go to the nearest emergency room right away.[1]

For the prescriber

  1. Could anything in this product change how long Vyvanse lasts for me?
  2. If the effect seems shorter, should we look at my supplements before changing the dose?
  3. Do glutathione injections need any extra checks in my case?
  4. Is it safe with my other medicines, including any antidepressant?
