What the Wegovy label says
- Too much Wegovy can bring severe nausea, severe vomiting and severe low blood sugar.[1]
- The Medication Guide's instruction: phone your healthcare provider or Poison Help (1-800-222-1222), or go straight to the nearest emergency room.[1]
- The label names no antidote. Treatment is supportive and guided by symptoms, and observation may be prolonged because the half-life is about 1 week.[1]
- Insulin or a sulfonylurea raises the chance of low blood sugar, including severe episodes.[1]
- In the 7.2 mg trials, vomiting was reported by 22% on 7.2 mg against 16% on 2.4 mg.[1]
Go to an emergency room now for
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea: losing fluids can cause dehydration and kidney problems.[1]
- Signs of low blood sugar: shakiness, sweating, confusion, slurred speech or a fast heartbeat.[1]
- Severe stomach pain that will not go away, with or without vomiting.[1]
Symptoms after the extra dose
Keep logging for several days; the drug stays in the body for weeks.

Ask the prescriber or poison specialist
- When should my next Wegovy dose be, and at what strength?
- Do my insulin or sulfonylurea doses need to change this week?
- Should I have kidney blood tests if vomiting or diarrhea continues?
- How do I stop a wrong-strength pen mix-up from happening again?
