Wegovy kidney lab tracker
Record your kidney numbers before Wegovy and at each dose step, plus any stretch of vomiting or diarrhea, so your prescriber or nephrologist sees eGFR, creatinine and urine albumin next to your dose history.
Starting point
Most recent eGFR and its date
Serum creatinine
Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR)
Kidney diagnosis or CKD stage you were given
Nephrologist and phone number
Blood pressure and kidney medicinesACE inhibitor, ARB, diuretic, SGLT2 inhibitor
Labs at each dose step
| Date | Wegovy dose (mg) | eGFR | Creatinine | UACR | Vomiting or diarrhea since last check? |

From the label and the SELECT kidney analysis
- The label saw no clinically significant change in semaglutide levels at eGFR 30 to below 90 mL/min; it gives no such data below 30.[1]
- Kidney side effects were more frequent in people with a history of kidney impairment and during dose titration.[1]
- Weight-reduction trials: acute kidney injury in 7 Wegovy patients (0.4 per 100 patient-years) versus 4 on placebo (0.2).[1]
- SELECT: the main kidney composite occurred in 1.8% on semaglutide 2.4 mg versus 2.2% on placebo; the eGFR benefit at 104 weeks was 2.19 mL/min/1.73 m² in people who started below 60.[2]
Call the prescriber the same day for
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea that keeps going: fluid loss can cause dehydration and kidney problems.[1]
- Severe stomach pain that will not go away, with or without vomiting.[1]
Questions for the prescriber or nephrologist
- My eGFR is below 30: how will you monitor me, given the label's kidney data stop at 30?
- Which blood and urine tests do you want before each dose increase?
- What should I do with my blood pressure pills or diuretic if I am vomiting?
- Would a slower escalation suit my kidney function?
