Wegovy injection practice log: device, site and yellow-bar check

Keep one line per weekly injection: which device and strength you used, where you injected, and whether the pen finished. It also carries the label's storage and missed-dose rules, which differ from some older guides.

Storage and timing rules in the current label

  • Single-dose pens: keep in the fridge at 2°C to 8°C; if needed, up to 28 days at 8°C to 30°C in the carton before the cap comes off.[1]
  • Throw a pen away if it froze, sat in light or above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge 28 days or longer.[1]
  • FlexTouch: after first use, up to 56 days at 15°C to 30°C or in the fridge. Use a new needle each time and never share the pen, even with a new needle.[1]
  • One missed dose: if the next dose is more than 2 days (48 hours) away, inject it as soon as possible; if it is less than 2 days away, skip it.[1]
  • Missed 2 or more weeks in a row: contact your healthcare provider about how to restart.[1]
  • You can move your injection day if your last dose was 2 or more days before.[1]

Call rather than re-inject

  • The yellow bar never started moving, or stopped partway: contact your healthcare provider or Novo Nordisk.[1]
  • Severe stomach pain that will not go away, with or without vomiting: stop Wegovy and call your healthcare provider right away.[1]
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, severe rash, or trouble breathing or swallowing: stop Wegovy and get medical help right away.[1]

To ask at your next appointment

  1. Which device will my next prescription be, and who can show me how to use it?
  2. Medicine leaked onto my skin last week: what should I do about that dose?
  3. Is a lump or redness at the site something to show you?
  4. Can I keep using the same body area if I change the exact spot?
