What the label and studies report
- In the Zepbound weight trials, low blood pressure was reported in 1.6% on Zepbound and 0.1% on placebo; in 2.2% of Zepbound users on blood pressure medicine and 1.2% of those not on it.[1]
- In the label's trial in type 2 diabetes, low blood sugar was reported in 10.3% of Zepbound users also taking a sulfonylurea and 2.1% of those not taking one.[1]
- Low blood sugar signs in the label include dizziness or light-headedness, sweating, confusion, shakiness and a fast heartbeat.[1]
- In one retrospective study (users' mean age 64), annualized hip bone loss in people without diabetes was 1% in users versus 0.6% in matched non-users; across the whole study the loss was similar.[2]
